Supported Employment

Supported Employment is an evidence-based practice that assists consumers with severe mental illness or co-occurring severe mental illness and substance use disorders to identify, acquire and maintain competitive employment in the community. These are jobs that pay at least minimum wage, are part time or full-time for which anyone in the community can apply. EBSE utilizes rapid job-search and continuous individualized follow along services to assist the consumer in all phases of the employment process.
Eligibility Criteria
  1. Primary Severe Mental Illness (SMI) diagnosis, and
  2. Currently receiving CSM/ACT/IDDT/Supports Coordination services through LifeWays, and
  3. Desire to become competitively employed in the community.
Referral Process

CSM/ACT/IDDT worker should fill out the referral form and have ROI signed by consumer and/or guardian.

Please forward the forms to the Supported Employment office. You may use interoffice mail (mailbox located inside LifeWays in Jackson), Mail or fax.

The forms will be available for electronic submission soon.

The SE Coordinator will schedule the consumer to be presented to the EBSE Community Team and notify the referring person.

Please Note:

  1. The CSM/ACT/IDDT/PSS must be present at the Community team for the consumer to be presented.
  2. The SE Coordinator will submit the eCura referral event.
  3. Please bring original referral form and ROI to the Community team meeting if the forms were faxed.
