Quality Management

LifeWays is committed to ensuring our provider agencies are delivering effective, efficient, and satisfactory services to consumers.  
 
The LifeWays Quality Management Program encompasses many quality improvement activities, all of which are driven and governed by the LifeWays Board of Directors and are intended to support the agency's mission and strategic plan while ensuring compliance with the Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) requirements and accreditation standards outlined by the Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
 
LifeWays monitors the quality of services in several ways. 
  • Providers are audited routinely to determine compliance with LifeWays standards and requirements.  The frequency of review and technical assistance increases as provider's performance decreases. 
  • Program outcomes and performance measures are monitoried to determine the level of service delivery effectiveness. 
  • Consumers are also surveyed by LifeWays or providers (depending on service type) to obtain input on ways to improve performance. 
  • Provider-specific and network-wide performance is gathered and reported in the Provider Network Fingerprint Report
The LifeWays Quality Management Council (QMC) oversees the agency's Quality Improvement Plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
