Help Us Stomp Out Suicide & Bullying!
To kick off Mental
Illness Awareness Week and National Bullying Prevention Month, LifeWays CMH
will hold its annual Stomp Out Suicide 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, October 1,
2011. This year's Stomp Out Suicide event t-shirts will be pink.
New event t-shirts are available for $5 each, which you can order online when you register. Still have last year's t-shirt? Wear it! The 2010 and 2011 event t-shirts will be identical, with the exception of the sponsors, which change from year to year.
Why Pink?
In 2007, two high school seniors in Nova Scotia, David Shepherd and Travis
Price, did what they thought was a simple thing...they stood up for a fellow
student -- a freshman boy -- who was being bullied for wearing a pink shirt.
David and Travis heard about it, bought a bunch of pink shirts, handed them out
and texted their friends to wear pink. The next day, nearly the entire student
body was wearing pink. [read

that bullying is not okay. In fact, in many cases, bullying can lead to
suicide...which is why we're taking a stand.
Join Us!
The walk will be held at the Cascade Falls Pavilion in Jackson and will include lunch, a memorial balloon release and a
goody bag provided by our sponsors.
